The Children Have Arrived!
──
We have four loving couples that are the long term foster mother and father to our first 12 orphaned children.  As you can tell by these photos they are already fitting in with their new families.

One of the children had both of his parents die of AIDS.  Another father died in a car accident and the mother left shortly thereafter abandoning her children. There is no government safety net in Uganda.  These children have to rely on what remaining family that are willing to take-on an additional child.  Often it is an elderly grandmother who is already struggling to feed herself.  Most have no hope of attending school as the modest school fees are unaffordable.  One of our new children, a 5 year old boy, was living with his grandmother and grandfather that brew their own alcohol from bananas, he was so happy to be leaving there to join a normal family again.

The first four family homes are completed with eight more under construction.  Two of those only need the finishing touches to be occupied.  Currently we have an additional five parents that are anxious to apply to reside here as long term foster parents on our 125 acre farm community.
