UPDATE: November 2022

I hope this newsletter finds you well.  There is much to be thankful for with our ongoing efforts to raise orphaned children in loving family homes to be responsible and self-reliant adults.  This work would not be possible without the support that many have provided over the last four years.  In August we received a dozen orphaned children in one day.  In February work began on the Nuri Primary School which is being generously funded by the Hirani Foundation.  This 12-classroom school will accommodate our children and some of the children in the surrounding area whose families are unable to afford school fees.   In the spring of this year, construction of the Genwell Community Center began.  This 3,000 square foot building will be used for school assemblies, be a lunch area on rainy days and will have a library for both the school and the surrounding community use.  Additionally, it will be a perfect location for community outreach efforts to our impoverished neighbors for English literacy classes, as well as agriculture training to increase family farm outputs and methods for better sanitation and clean water procedures.  It will also be used for church services on Sunday.

I have just learned that an additional 17 orphaned children have been identified and will be joining one our four existing families very soon.  We also have four more couples that will be moving to Bukomero to be long term foster parents bringing our total to eight families.  Someday soon we will have 14 families with 200 orphaned children living in these beautiful God-centered homes.

Included in this update is a link to the latest video which recaps the journey of the dozen orphaned children that joined our community this August.  Please share this information with family and friends that might be inclined to help.  100% of donations go to the work in Uganda.  Our limited US expenses, including travel expenses. are covered by donations made by our US board.
